I live near a reactor, and I can honestly say, I like them. I'd rather have one of these lending their semi-creepy vibe to the view out my window than have a coal plant smogging it up, using fuel dug out of the mountains I grew up on. True, there have been some disasters over their decades of use, but it's still a new technology, and we're getting smarter about it. After Fukushima, the major power authority in my area began overhauling all of their nuclear plants and hydroelectric dams. We still have monthly tests of the region-wide emergency sirens, and they still send out free calenders to every home in the area, with detailed maps of escape routes should something go wrong. Sure, we still need to figure out what to do with the leftovers, but hey, coal (even 'clean' coal) just spews it's toxic leftovers into the air.

I love this picture, and the idea that's implied is very strong, but please, everyone, do your research before you fear something like this. Of course new technologies, even those decades old, deserve a little bit of caution, but not outright fear and hatred. Look into your local power providers, and you may find that you're seeing this picture on a computer powered by nuclear energy.
